Over 50 years of research resulted in a discovery of the first order, beginning with Melvin Calvin and Andrew Benson, key members of the team of accomplished scientists at the University of California that won the Nobel Prize. A breakthrough came in 1992, when Andrew Benson and Arthur Nonomura discovered how to optimize photosynthetic carbon fixation. Their results, “The Path of Carbon in Photosynthesis”", were published in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 89:9794-9798, the XXIVth Paper in the Nobel Series. Today, Andrew Benson and Arthur Nonomura are part of the science and research team of Innovation Hammer, LLC.
